I made a Banana Cream Pie this weekend! May not sound like a big deal, but it is considering that I can't cook! HA! When I was growing up, my mom would make Banana Cream Pie with graham cracker crust for the holidays. It was my absolutely favorite pie! I thought about that pie this weekend, so I gave it a try. It's so super simple (even I can make it) Let me tell you....it tasted like memories!!! The best. :) You can find recipes all over the internet, but here's a simple way to make it with instant pudding.
Graham Cracker crust
10 sheets of graham crackers... ground with a food processor or a ziplock bag and a rolling pin. You need about 1 1/2 cups.
7 tablespoons of melted butter
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of packed brown sugar
mix together and press into a pie pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes
Let the crust cool. Then layer the bottom with bananas. For the pudding, I just use store bought instant vanilla pudding. Follow the directions (I added just a touch of vanilla extract) then pour over the bananas. Stick it in the refrigerator to cool. Serve with whipped cream!
So delicious!
I forgot to take a picture before we cut into it..... so it's not Instagram pretty, but it was yummy!
