Jurassic World: Dominion - the review

Jurassic World: Dominion topped the box office this weekend taking in $143.4 million dollars! We watched it yesterday. I'm sad to say that I was disappointed. I went into the movie expecting to LOVE it (like I loved the others) but honestly, I barely liked it. Don't worry, not going to give any spoilers. :) The movie brought the original and current cast together, which I thought would be cool, but it turned out to be "campy." It felt like they were trying too hard to make references to the old movies instead of having a rock solid story line. In fact there, were too many storylines going on and I didn't feel attached to any of them. What made it campy to me was the intentional "winks" and "poses" to reference to past. So distracting! I was also distracted by Laura Dern's overacting. (Which I hate to say because I love her!) But her expressions were WAY over the top. I also thought it was weird how they had the dinosaurs mixed with the real world. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil it. But it felt like I was watching a Star Wars/sci-fi movie instead of a Jurassic movie.

Don't get me wrong....I'm not saying I hated it. I just didn't LOVE it like I wanted too. :).
