Goose and I raced in the Donkey Derby Days Big Ass challenge on Saturday morning in Cripple Creek! This was our first time doing it, so we really didn't know what to expect. Honestly, we all thought the donkeys were going to be slow...but they were FAST! At least ours was. Her name was Alice and she was as CUTE as could be :) We took off running down Bennett Avenue and started out doing great. But holy cow it's hard to run at altitude (and I'm out of shape) Half way down the street I couldn't run anymore so Goose and the Donkey ran without me. He finished in second place...but the rules state that both team members have to cross the finish line. So we didn't place until I made it to the end and joined them. Yep. My bad. But we still finished in third place which is awesome :) The trophy was pretty cool. Guess I'll have to start running and training for next year :) Check out the pics below!
