One of my goals for 2021 is to try stay more positive. Lets be honest...last year was a doozy and it wasn't easy to find the bright side! So it's time to get back on track! I even made a vision board this year to help remind me to stay positive and find the joy in every day :)
Here are some great tips to help you stay positive! Shawn Achor, author of "The Happiness Advantage" has shared four habits that can be key to more happiness in life. These are great and they don't take much time at all.
The first one is awesome. Two minutes of emailing. Send an email to a different person every day to thank them or praise them! Isn't that awesome! I'll make you feel good...and it'll make someone else feel good too!
Fifteen minutes of movement. We've all heard that exercise makes you feel better...and it does!! Just 15 minutes is a mood booster. I've been working out for 30 minutes every day and I can tell you it has definitely helped me!
Two minutes of meditation. Ahhhhh yes. This is my go-to anytime that I am stressed or need to feel grounded. And it's just as simple as two minutes of breathing and paying attention to your breathing. It lowers stress and improves sleep!
Finally, Achor suggest two minutes of journaling. Think about something positive or meaningful that has happened in the last 24 hours and write it down! A gratitude journal :) This is similar to the gratitude jar I always talk about. It's so great to write down the wonderful things that happen in your life. When you read them back, you can't help but smile!
