Amazon quietly changed their logo after the public started saying that it kind of resembled Hitler's mustache. The old logo of the shopping cart was in place for more than five years when Amazon decided there should be a logo update. However, with Amazon’s smiling-face-arrow on a package and a ridged piece of blue tape positioned on top of the smile line, it looked a bit like the mustache of the German dictator. Once this went viral on Twitter, Amazon updated its app logo again so now the tape is straight and part of it is folded. Amazon spokesperson Craig Andrews did not directly address the Hitler comparison, but told The Washington Post,
“We designed the new icon to spark anticipation, excitement, and joy when customers start their shopping journey on their phone, just as they do when they see our boxes on their door step.”
